Latino Poetry: Places We Call Home
As part of the national initiative called Latino Poetry: Places We Call Home created by the Library of America, Humanities Kansas is launching Latino Poetry in Kansas in April during National Poetry Month. On April 4, Huascar Medina, 2019-2022 Poet Laureate of Kanasas, will lead a free poetry reading and writing workshop at Seward County Community College in Liberal. The event will be open to all Kansans. Inspired by the newly published Latino Poetry Reader, Medina will engage participants with the work of Latino poets from across the world followed by a hands-on poetry writing workshop for Kansans. Additional events are planned at the Jetmore Public Library. Follow HK on social media to learn more!
Latino Poetry: Places We Call Home includes an online media archive and library resources. It is funded with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities and Emerson Collective and is directed by Library of America.
