When the Well Runs Dry
Produced by NGO Films and Florence Historical Society with the support of an HK Humanities For All Grant.
Agriculture and cattle ranching has been the backbone of the Kansas economy since the territory was originally established in the 1800s. Because of the vast grass plains of Kansas, water has been the life support of these industries. So then, the sustainability of these industries is dependent on the maintenance of our water supplies in the face of the decreasing water table and recurrent droughts.
To explore the diverse water concerns of the agricultural industries and rural communities of Kansas watch When the Well Runs Dry.
