“Whenever we enter the land, sooner or later we pick up the scent of our own histories” –William Least Heat-Moon

Most often, people think that Kansas is a flat prairie, but it has variations and beautiful subtlety. This documentary short sought to explore the impact of the literal and metaphorical landscape of Cowley County in south central Kansas. Cowley County is situated within the Flint Hills of Kansas, giving the landscape its memorable features.

Learn more about how the people and culture of Cowley County is anchored to the land and to each person who calls the county home.
