Brown v. Board Mural Project: Legacy & Vision - Dedication Ceremony

Date and Time: August 15, 2018, 5:30 PM CT

Location: Brown v. Board National Historic Site, 1515 SE Monroe St, Topeka
(view on google maps)

The public is invited to the dedication of the Brown v. Board community mural. The mural explores the themes of equality and justice seen through the eyes of young people from Topeka, the city central to the 1954 Supreme Court ruling Brown v. Topeka Board of Ed.

Muralist Michael Toombs, a Kansas City-area artist, will discuss the community effort that went into developing the mural.

The event is part of short film project that documents the creation a Brown v. Board community mural, an effort to bring the landmark Civil Rights decision into the 21st century.
